The Reasearch and Development department of ASEPRI started an analysis and adaptation of trends that concluded in 4 major trends presented for the fall-winter collection for kids 2010-2011. The preview that they organized gathers the most importand elements that will be seen in all designers collections for the season.
The 4 major trends are presented in a smart and playful comprehensive video that is easy to understand even without knowing too much Spanish.
Recycling Folk
This is a trend that follows the combination of technology with the spirit of nature in a joyfull, serene look. The colour pallete is inspired from the brute colours of the earth and gives the trend a warm look as it is applied on hand made clothes and accesories, making us think of an evolution of the country trend presented last season.
The trend follows organic motives that make it more sophisticated.
Favourite fabrics: knitting, wool, nappa, tweed.
Magical Formula
It looks fun to adopt this trend as it has a magical formula indeed! It defines fashion as the result of combining creativity, playful work and optimism with technology and nature. The colours here are serious and witty and the style is inspired by working outfits that are made to last, be extremely comfortable and endure all kind of situations. After all, we all know how kids clothes can end up after only one playful afternoon!
Favourite fabrics: denim bulk, mouton, twills, tartan.
Urban Tribes
Taking the music and life of the city streets to children’s clothes is what this trend is all about. Neon glow, mettalic look, vivid colours and printed outfits, defined by ‘graphic imagination’. That’s what gives it the glam and the sparkle. School ware gets a new definition for this trend and urban elements stand out again with a rock style resemblence.
Favourite fabrics: denim,velvet, serge,tricot.
Sweet Legend
The romantic trend that makes little girls princesses and little boys knights. Ofcourse, centuries that passed redefined these notions and made them strong powerful fashion elements to be adapted to the 21st century life.
This is a gothic and romantic look, with flower prints and dream like graphics that challenge the imagination. It’s a door opening to the past and towards a bright future as well. Fantasy is a key word, as you let yourself follow the amazing fairytale adventures of your dreams.
Favourite fabrics: mohair, taffeta, flannel, velvet, muslin, vichy.
